This book series focuses on endangered mammals, including tapirs, sloths, pacas, bats, and felines. In this installment, the study shifts to two groups of aquatic mammals: cetaceans (whales, dolphins, and beaked whales) and sirenians (manatees). These mammals exclusively inhabit water environments, and their physical adaptations and behavior aid their survival. However, they face serious threats from pollution in rivers and oceans, as well as human activities such as fishing and industrial whaling.

In this series of books our focus has been on learning more about representatives of different kinds of endangered mammals including tapirs, sloths, pacas, bats and felines. This time we will be studying two groups of aquatic mammals.

The first group is the order of the cetaceans, which includes whales, dolphins and beaked whales. The second group is the sirenians, where we find the manatees. These mammals live exclusively in water and their physical adaptations and behavior help them survive in this environment. They are seriously affected by the pollution of the rivers and oceans as well as by human activities such as fishing and industrial whaling.
